Cheli is my first border collie.

She is named after Chris Chelios, formerly with the Chicago Blackhawks. Her registered name is also a hockey term -- a "power play" occurs when one team has a penalty and the two sides are uneven for a while.

Cheli is a very versatile border collie and we have competed in obedience, agility, herding, tracking and she has her breed championship. She is also a certified therapy dog. Cheli's favorite pasttime though is playing ball or frisbee.

Cheli is now mostly retired from competitive dog sports although we do still compete in agility and we have gotten started in rally obedience for fun. I don't like leaving her home when I take the young dogs so she still gets to play!!

The one title that we are still actively training for is the Variable Surface Tracking title which would make Cheli a champion tracker (CT).
Cheli became the foundation of the Czechmate lines when she had her one and only litter of puppies in 2000.
Cheli earned TWO HSAs legs at the BCSA National Specialty in October 2006
